can you recreate this tutorial but make it more beginner friendly?

Yet another brilliant tutorial. I am trying to get my head round how you created the front edge of this 2 layered structure. As I understood from this video you created a loft that connects 3 spines, one spine to create the top surface, the other for the lower surface and a 3rd that connects the upper and the lower surfaces lip fashion. Am I right here?

for some reason when I try to import the exel file, revit tells me that my file has no points. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Cant get past the "select objects in current drawing" part. I manually selected my topo numbers with a crossing window but the "next" but doesn't allow me to move on to the next step. Any thoughts?

I found another solution that will not require to have flattening the original path. In such big projects were I have hundreds of points every 1m, flattening the curve as per your solution is not viable.

This is great information, so thanks for that! Extremely helpful! One little quibble though, Waaaaay too fast with the mouse. Its not always easy to see what you are actually doing on the screen. Had to rewind about 20 times to make sense of parts of it.

Thanks for sharing, actually I have a similar problem. I try create a rectangle tube with 10 reference points and 1 reference line. Whenever I change the position of any reference point on Z-Axis, all reference points and rectangle tube rotates itself directly 90 degree.. I still dont get it why but trying to solve it by changing "Orients to" unter Adaptive Component section..

your 2nd formula is off in the presentation. its missing a close bracket. should be like the below if(calcLength > 10000 mm, 0 mm, if(calcLength < 8000 mm, 400 mm, (calcLength - 10000 mm)) / -5) although the one you past in the family also says > 8000 but in the presentation it says < than 8000 The formula you paste in revit also has an additional calculation within it. after 400 there is a -(calcLength...... then it crops off in your view so no one can see the correct formula that actually works. For anyone else looking at this the original poster pasted a below comment with a formula. but that also doesn't work like shown in the video. if(calcLength > 10000 mm, 0 mm, if(calcLength > 8000 mm, 400 mm - (calcLength - 8000 mm) / 5, 400 mm)) Just to note. you also dont need 2 parameters for the NCP. you can click those points and make ones instance parameter for measure from "beginning" and the other can be "end". then you only need the one parameter to control where they go along the ref line.
